Traditional bride Sivasri Skandaprasad
Carnatic singer and dancer Sivasri Skandaprasad’s wedding to Tejasvi Surya was a rich tapestry of the majesty of traditional South Indian wedding rituals. Keeping fidelity to the ancient beauty of ethnic silks of the South, Sivasri picked traditional colours- red and yellow—for the ceremonies.
Sivasri was all grace in an elegant yellow Kanchipuram silk saree for one of the ceremonies, and she accessorized the saree with gold jewelry and a simple jasmine gajra.
She wore a simple handloom silk saree in peach with an ikat border, with a simple maang tikka and jhumka.
For the traditional ceremonies, she wore a red Kanchipuram silk saree in the traditional madisar style, paired with a brilliant green blouse. The korvai border laced with golden zari was handwoven in a traditional pattern. All her jewelry was traditional and ornate. From the beautifully ornate full headset, complete with the sun and moon motifs, a nosepin, matching earrings, ethnic bangles, and layered necklaces, she accessorized her look with traditional jewelry. Her hair was decorated with the age-old Andal kondai, lending her a unique charm of the bygone era.
