Sobhita Dhulipala married Naga Chaitanya in a traditional wedding ceremony on 4th December at the Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad. In a ritual rich South Indian wedding ceremony, Sobhita wore stunning Kanchipuram sarees and artistic gold jewellery, paying tribute to her heritage. The bride referenced cultural significance in the selection of her attire and jewellery. It was storytelling with textiles and jewellery for the ceremonial part of her wedding.

Shobhita’s looks for the many functions for her wedding were equally arresting. Sticking with the convention she wore rich and bright hued silks, pairing them were richly intricate gold jewellery.

For the Raata sthaapana and Mangalasnaanam ceremony, Sobhita wore a mustard yellow georgette saree and a tubeless blouse. She chose to wear her mother’s and grandmother’s jewellery for the ceremony. She wore a blazing orange dupatta for the function.

 

For her Pellikuthuru ceremony, Sobhita wore a traditional red saree with gold motifs, pairing it with more gold, jhumkas, bangles, choker and a maang tikka.  Sobhita wore a full sleeved blouse in red with the saree.   

She wore a peach saree with ivory and green, pairing it with an ivory blouse for the Godhuma Raayi Pasupu danchatam. She went for a village look with simple gold jewellery and green glass bangles.

For the formal engagement ceremony, Sobhita chose a Manish Malhotra saree, a blush silk saree woven in Uppada. Her saree has Kanakambaram floral motifs, representing an ethnic flower symbolising wealth and abundance. She played safe with gold jewellery.

For the wedding ceremony, Sobhita referenced her spellbinding screen role, that of  Ponniyan selvan.  In a lustrous antique gold Kanchipuram by Gaurang Shah, Sobhita matched priceless heirloom jewellery.  She wore a stunning matha patti, surya chandra motifs on her hair, a bullaki (nose pin), layered necklaces including a ruby choker with a large pendant, mango haram and a bottumala (bead chain).  She was the royal bride wearing a think vaddanam (waist belt), traditional bangles and vanki (armlets). Her statement jewellery elevated the regal style that the she adopted for the function.   

The actress also chose to wear a handcharkha woven Khadi silk saree with a zari border, again from Gaurang Shah.
